If you're into witty television shows about advertising, then check out the new ABC-TV program, The Gruen Transfer.
Unlike those TV shows that play endless re-runs of funny and/or sexy TV commercials (you could say ad nauseum, n'yuk, n'yuk), the wonderfully-named Gruen Transfer is witty and highly irreverent but somehow also manages to squeeze in a 'serious' side i.e. discussion re the tricks advertisers use to make people buy stuff.
Last night's opening episode produced a fair bit of debate about the new Dove campaign.
Named after Victor Gruen, the man responsible for America's first shopping mall, The Gruen Transfer is produced by Andrew Denton's (wonderfully named) Zapruder's Other Films.
