Valerie Khoo and the team at Sydney Writers' Centre have come up with a terrific initiative, once again indicating Australia's blogging movement is indeed gathering steam (see Australia's Blogging Community Comes of Age).
The centre has in recent weeks been promoting the 2011 Best Australian Blogs Competition and the response has been fantastic - 570 nominations were received across four categories (business, commentary, lifestyle/personal, words/writing).
On Friday 6 May, the Sydney Writers’ Centre will announce:
- the four category winners
- the winner of the People’s Choice Awards
- the overall winner who will be announced as Best Australian Blog 2011
“It’s been such a popular competition which really shows how much interest and activity there is in blogging,” said the competition's coordinator, Rose Powell.
