I originally posted it on my Posterous blog in April - it's has accumulated over 2100 views since with virtually no promotion!

Launched Today: BlogHUB - the Heart of Australia's Blogging Community

Blogging in Australia is on fire!

For years we’ve had growing pockets of blogging enthusiasts keeping the faith; today however, blogging in Australia has exploded from being somewhat of an ‘underground oddity’ into a mainstream phenomenon.

This example from this weekend's Herald Sun: Queens of the Blogosphere.

We have blogs about parenting and family life; marketing, PR, law and business; media and entertainment; art and craft; fashion, design and architecture; health and nutrition, technology, politics … not to mention seemingly hundreds of blogs dedicated to food, drink and lifestyle.

Central point online for bloggers

But, rightly or wrongly, I felt there was a need for a central point online for local bloggers - a site that promoted and celebrated blogging in this country. 

Enter BlogHUB – the heart of Australia’s blogging community - a new blog/website launched today by the PR Warrior!

To mark the launch of its new proprietary tool BlogLevel, PR firm Edelman Australia collated a list of the top 50 marketing blogs in the country.

BlogLevel was developed by Edelman for measuring a blog’s influence, popularity, engagement and trust.

Breakfast With Sir Richard Branson (Video)

I was lucky enough to join a bloggers' table at a breakfast event on Friday featuring entrepreneur extraordinaire, Virgin Group founder Sir Richard Branson (hat-tip to the ladies from Women in Focus).

The event, run by Emma Isaacs' Business Chicks, was a sell-out - testament to Branson's rock star status within the business community.

Given my excellent vantage point I was able to shoot a bit of video of the great man being interviewed on stage by the 7PM Project's Carrie Bickmore.

Here is the result - it contains three short excerpts from the interview.
